Ian Aguilar, the 10-year-old boy who was reported missing from Wilmer 11 days ago, has been found safe and reunited with his family, according to the Wilmer Police Department. The AMBER Alert that was issued for Ian on November 14 has now been canceled.

The police had initially believed that Ian was with his father, 38-year-old Juan Aguilar-Cano, and they were thought to be traveling in a tan 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe with Texas license plate KVZ 1194. However, the vehicle was discovered in the Houston area the day after Ian disappeared, but neither Ian nor Aguilar-Cano were found.

Following the alert, Aguilar-Cano was identified as the suspect in the murder of Ian’s mother. Last week, the police expressed their belief that Ian was safe and with a family member in Mexico. However, they continued their investigation until they could confirm that Ian was not in any danger.

The Wilmer Police Department has expressed its gratitude for the hard work and collaboration of multiple law enforcement agencies, support groups, and counterparts on both sides of the US-Mexico border that led to Ian’s safe return.

“We are excited to have Ian back with his family safely,” said Lieutenant John Rhodes of the Wilmer Police Department.

Currently, there is no information available regarding the whereabouts of Aguilar-Cano.
