Week-old baby found dumped with slit throat in Gurugram, Haryana; investigation underway

A horrifying incident took place in Gurugram, Haryana, where a week-old baby was discovered dumped by a sweeper. The baby was found soaked in blood with its throat slit. The sanitation worker, Rajesh, made the alarming discovery on Darbaripur road on November 17.

Promptly, Rajesh alerted the police about the abandoned infant. Authorities swiftly conducted inquiries in the vicinity but were unable to gather any leads regarding the baby’s identity. CCTV footage from within a one-kilometer radius of the incident was reviewed, but no evidence was found.

Dr. Sudhir Kumar, who performed the post-mortem, determined that the child was no more than a week old and was in good health prior to the devastating incident. Consequently, based on the post-mortem report received on Thursday, the police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against unknown individuals at Badshahpur Police Station. The FIR includes charges of murder, destruction of evidence, and concealment of birth, according to news agency PTI.

To ensure a thorough investigation, a dedicated crime branch team has been assigned to delve into the tragic death of the infant. Authorities are interrogating street vendors and other individuals in an attempt to identify the child and uncover the culprits responsible for this heinous act.
