Sessions Judge Ajit Kumar Hinger, in his order on Friday, stated that the prosecution had provided sufficient evidence to establish the facts of the case.

According to the prosecution counsel Sandeep Lohariya, the accused, a 27-year-old woman named Priya, had demanded a ransom of Rs 10 lakh from the victim’s family after kidnapping him. When the family failed to pay, she stabbed the man to death.

Judge Hinger remarked, “The prosecution has presented adequate evidence to authenticate these facts. The evidence presented by the prosecution proved that the accused have committed the crime.”

Based on the evidence presented, the court convicted the three accused under sections 342 (wrongful confinement), 302 (murder), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), and 120-B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code. They have been sentenced to life imprisonment.

The relationship between Priya and the victim, Dushyant, began in February 2018, but it was built on lies. Priya had interacted with Dushyant with the intention of kidnapping him and extorting money. Dushyant, on the other hand, had lied about being married and portrayed himself as a wealthy businessman from Delhi using a fake name, Vivan Kohli, on the dating platform.

Reports suggest that Priya, along with her accomplices Dikshant Kamra and Lakshya Walia, kidnapped Dushyant after luring him to her place. When they made a ransom call to his family, they discovered Dushyant’s deceitful identity.

After the victim’s father deposited Rs 3 lakh in his son’s account, the accused used Dushyant’s debit card to withdraw Rs 20,000 from an ATM in Jaipur. Fearing that their crime would be exposed, they killed Dushyant, dismembered his body, and packed the pieces into a suitcase, which they dumped on a road in Delhi.

It has also been revealed that both Priya and Dikshant have a criminal history. Priya has been arrested thrice in the past for breaking an ATM machine, while Kamra was previously arrested in Mumbai.
