19-Year-Old Zyles James Fatally Shot in Wichita; Suspect Luis Jackson Still at Large

SEDGWICK COUNTY — Police are currently investigating a fatal shooting in Wichita and are appealing to the public for help in locating a suspect named Luis Jackson, as per a Crime Stoppers report.

According to Officer Juan Rebolledo, law enforcement officers were dispatched to the scene of the incident in the early hours of September 10. The shooting was reported in the 4000 block of West Memory Lane in Wichita.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered 19-year-old Zyles James of Wichita in an unconscious state, with gunshot wounds to his upper and lower body. Immediate life-saving measures were initiated by the officers until EMS arrived. Sadly, James succumbed to his injuries after being transported to a local hospital.

During the initial response, authorities also discovered another victim with a graze wound to the arm. This individual was subsequently taken to a local hospital for treatment and was later released.

Law enforcement officials are now urging anyone with information about the whereabouts of Luis Jackson to come forward. If you happen to see Jackson or have any information about his location, it is essential to contact the authorities by dialing 911 or reach out to Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
