Two Workers Killed and One Injured in Naxal Attack at Iron Ore Mine in Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh

Two workers were killed and another severely injured after an explosion at an iron ore mine in Narayanapur district, Chattishgarh. The incident occurred at around 7:30 AM on Friday when the workers were heading to the Aamdai Ghati iron mine. The deceased have been identified as Ritesh Gagda (21) and Shravan Gagda (24), both residents of Narayanpur.

It is believed that the explosion was caused by a pressure improvised explosive rod (IED) planted by Naxalites, who are reportedly angry over the allocation of the mine to Jayaswal Neco Industries Limited (JNIL). The workers apparently came into contact with the pressure IED connection, triggering the blast.

Initially, Sharavan’s body was reported missing following the explosion. However, it was later found at the site of the incident. The injured worker was rushed to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have launched an investigation into the matter.

The tragic incident has raised concerns about the safety of workers in the mining industry and the threat posed by Naxalites. It highlights the need for enhanced security measures to protect workers and prevent such incidents in the future.

Mining operations in the area have been temporarily halted as authorities assess the situation and ensure the safety of other workers. The local community is in shock and mourning the loss of two young lives.
