Rajouri Encounter: Indian Army Shares Pictures of Terrorist Hideout

The Indian Army has released images of a small cave used by terrorists as a hideout in the forests of the Rajouri district in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place in the Bajimaal area following a cordon-and-search operation on November 22. Such hideouts are difficult to detect and breach, according to security officials.

The operation led to the killing of two terrorists, including a top Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) commander who had received training in Afghanistan. The commander, identified as Quari, was a Pakistan national and a hardcore terrorist. He was highly ranked within the Lashkar-e-Taiba and had been active in the Rajouri-Poonch region for a year. Quari was known for his expertise in IEDs, sniping, and operating from caves.

The encounter also resulted in the tragic loss of five army personnel, including two captains. The deceased soldiers were identified as Captain M V Pranjal, Captain Shubham Gupta, Havaldar Abdul Majid, Lance Naik Sanjay Bist, and Paratrooper Sachin Laur. They were killed in the operation against the terrorists in the Bajimaal area.

The Indian Army’s efforts in combating terrorism in the region have been commendable. Their success in eliminating the terrorist hideout and neutralizing the top LeT commander is a significant blow to the militant group.
