A man has been arrested in Gladstone, Missouri, for the murder of a pregnant woman in Wisconsin last year. The suspect, Jose Eduardo Dominguez-Garcia, was apprehended after automated license plate readers detected a car with a stolen plate. When officers approached the vehicle, a red Ford Fusion, the driver initially provided multiple ID cards and different names. However, he was later identified as Dominguez-Garcia and found to have outstanding warrants for first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree intentional homicide of an unborn child, and hiding a corpse in Chippewa County, Wisconsin.

Dominguez-Garcia was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in the Clay County Detention Center in Missouri, awaiting extradition to Wisconsin. The original case involved the murder of 25-year-old Rosaly Cindy Chavarria Rodriguez, who went missing in July 2020. Her body was discovered stuffed into a suitcase at a farmhouse in Wheaton, Wisconsin, in October 2020. Dominguez-Garcia and Rodriguez were reportedly co-workers at a local restaurant and had been in a relationship at the time of her disappearance.

Investigators found Dominguez-Garcia’s car in Wisconsin a month after Rodriguez went missing, and they discovered fluids in the trunk that indicated the presence of a decaying body. Later, during a drug investigation, law enforcement was informed about a suitcase containing a body on a farm near Wheaton.

It remains unclear why Dominguez-Garcia was in Gladstone or how long he had been in the area. The Gladstone Police Department did not provide further details regarding his arrest. The case has attracted significant attention due to the shocking nature of the crime and the fact that the victim was pregnant at the time of her death.

Authorities from both Missouri and Wisconsin will continue to collaborate on the investigation, ensuring that justice is served for Rosaly Cindy Chavarria Rodriguez and her unborn child.
