25-year-old woman found dead on railway tracks in Visakhapatnam identified as P Kalyani

Visakhapatnam: A 25-year-old woman was discovered dead on the railway tracks near Simhachalam in the city. The deceased has been identified as P Kalyani. Police suspect that it may be a case of suicide. The body has been retrieved and taken for post-mortem examination. A case has been registered, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death.

In recent news, a newborn male child was found abandoned in a wooden box near railway tracks in Mumbai. The child is currently receiving medical treatment, and an FIR has been filed against the unknown parents. The Government Railway Police (GRP) is conducting a search for them, and inquiries will be made in the nearby slum colony. Hospitals and nursing homes will also be checked for any recently born babies that cannot be traced.

In Kolkata, metro train services were partially disrupted after a body was found on the tracks. Train services were temporarily suspended between Tollygunge and Kabi Subhas stations, and efforts are being made to remove the body quickly. Services are expected to resume soon, and currently, trains are operational between Dakhineswar and Maidan stations.

Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, three separate incidents of suicide were reported. A regional manager, Yogesh Chaurasiya, was found hanging at his home in Indirapuram. In another incident, a woman constable named Sheetal was found hanging at her house in Urban Home society. Additionally, a 20-year-old man reportedly jumped from a tower in Dev Heights society. The deceased individuals were taken to Fortis Hospital in Noida, and their bodies were sent for a post-mortem examination. It was revealed that Sheetal had been involved in a fight with her husband prior to her death, while the man who jumped was suffering from depression and undergoing treatment in Delhi.

These incidents highlight the tragic and concerning prevalence of suicides and abandonment near railway tracks. Authorities must continue to investigate and address the underlying issues that contribute to such incidents, while also providing support and resources for those in need of mental health assistance.
