A 16-year-old girl in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, tragically took her own life by hanging herself at her grandfather’s house. It is believed that she committed suicide after being scolded by her grandfather, although the exact reason behind her extreme decision remains unknown as she did not leave a note. The police are currently investigating the case and have started recording statements from family members to determine the cause of her death.
The girl, identified as Hema Lokhande, was a student in the 10th grade and lived with her grandfather in Ganesh Nagar while studying. Her father, Dinesh, resides in the Rajendra Nagar area. Hema’s father, who owns a vehicle repairing garage, stated that she was his only daughter, with two younger brothers. On Thursday evening, her cousin discovered her hanging and immediately informed the police. Following a post-mortem examination, the police handed over her body to the family.

In a separate incident, a 26-year-old furniture businessman named Manpreet Singh was found hanging in a hotel room within the jurisdiction of Kanadiya police station. The reason behind his decision to take his own life remains unknown, and the police have launched an investigation into the case. Statements from family members are being recorded as part of the investigation, and Singh’s body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Both cases highlight the alarming issue of suicide, especially among young individuals.
