Wareham Woman Charged with DUI After Cranberry Bog Rollover Crash

A 31-year-old woman from Wareham has been arrested and charged with operating under the influence (OUI) following a rollover crash into a cranberry bog early this morning. The incident occurred on Maple Springs Road just after midnight on November 23.

The Wareham Police, Fire, and EMS swiftly responded to the scene of the motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle overturned and submerged in water in the cranberry bog. Fortunately, a good Samaritan was already assisting the sole occupant out of the overturned vehicle.

The Wareham Fire Department was also called to the scene and conducted a thorough search of the vehicle and water, ensuring that there were no additional hazards present.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Alisha McGough, a resident of Wareham. She now faces charges of operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle.

McGough is scheduled to be arraigned at Wareham District Court on Friday, November 24.
