Tragic Incident Claims Lives of Father and Two Sons in Sitapur’s Khairabad

Four members of a family, including a father and his two sons, were tragically killed in a devastating accident in Sitapur’s Khairabad area. According to senior police officials, the incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when a truck carrying sewer pipes toppled onto the victims’ car. The victims were identified as 60-year-old Ram Das Maurya, his sons Avinish (25) and Ankur Maurya (22), and his son-in-law Lekh Raj (30).

The family was traveling from Udham Singh Nagar in Uttarakhand to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh for a wedding procession. Sadly, all the deceased were severely crushed under the weight of the truck, and it took the use of gas cutters to extract their bodies from the mangled car.

Inspector TP Singh, in charge of Khairabad police station, provided further details about the incident. He confirmed that the victims were all in the same car, heading to Ayodhya for the wedding of their relative, Rishabh Maurya, which was scheduled to take place on Thursday.

The procession had made a stop at a roadside eatery on the Lucknow-Sitapur highway in Khairabad at around 3 pm. The accident occurred as the victims resumed their journey towards Ayodhya. The truck, loaded with large sewer pipes, lost control and collided with the car, causing it to overturn.

Following the incident, traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted for over an hour. The bodies have been sent for postmortem examination, and the family has been notified of the tragic accident.

This devastating incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for drivers to exercise caution. The loss of four lives in a single accident is a heartbreaking tragedy that has left the community in mourning.
