Salem Man Faces Meth Dealing Charges After Traffic Stop

A Salem man has been charged with meth dealing following a traffic stop conducted by police last week. The incident took place on November 17 around 9:40 p.m. along River Road near Tunnelton. During the stop, officers detected a marijuana odor emanating from the vehicle, prompting a search.

Upon further investigation, police discovered that the driver, identified as 42-year-old Gregory Lammers, was in possession of 11 grams of marijuana. In addition to the marijuana, Lammers also had over 36 grams of methamphetamine, digital scales, numerous baggies consistent with drug packaging, a hypodermic syringe, and other paraphernalia.

As a result, Lammers was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 4 felony, unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony, and possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor. He is scheduled to appear for a pretrial conference on February 21, 2024, at 9 a.m.

The arrest and charges highlight the ongoing efforts of law enforcement to combat drug-related crimes in the Salem area.
