Russian Actor Polina Menshikhand Killed in Ukrainian Attack on Stage

A Russian actor was tragically killed during a Ukrainian attack while performing for Vladimir Putin’s marines in eastern Ukraine. The incident took place in Donetsk, an area controlled by Russia. The actor, identified as Polina Menshikhand, was confirmed dead by the Russian state-run TASS news agency.

The Portal theater in St. Petersburg released a statement expressing their grief over Menshikhand’s demise. They stated, “It is with great pain that we inform you that Polina Menshikh died yesterday at a performance in the Donbas as a result of shelling.”

Both military officials from Russia and Ukraine confirmed the attack that occurred on November 19. A video of the incident has since gone viral on social media. In the video, Menshikhand, aged 40, can be seen performing on stage. Suddenly, a loud crash is heard, and the camera cuts to black as chaos ensues.

According to a Russian military investigator quoted on state television, the attack targeted a school and cultural center in a village known as Kumachovo in the Donetsk region. The investigator stated that one civilian was killed, but no mention was made of military casualties.

In response, Ukrainian commanders claimed that they had targeted a Russian military award ceremony, specifically focusing on Russia’s 810th Separate Naval Infantry Brigade. While the Russian defense ministry did not mention any casualties, a Ukrainian military commander reported that 25 people had been killed, with over 100 wounded.

The Ukrainian military commander referred to the attack as “revenge for the 128th,” alluding to a recent Russian strike on soldiers from Ukraine’s 128th Separate Mountain Assault Brigade. In that incident, the brigade claimed that 19 of its soldiers had been killed.

The tragic death of Polina Menshikhand highlights the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. As tensions escalate, innocent lives continue to be lost, further deepening the divide between the two nations.
