Railway Employee Allegedly Dies by Suicide at Mysuru Railway Station

Mysuru: A tragic incident occurred at the Mysuru Railway Station on Wednesday when a railway employee, identified as N Prabhu, allegedly died by suicide. Prabhu, 45, was an employee of the mechanical division of the Mysuru division. The authorities confirmed his death, stating that he came under the wheels of the Basava Express (Mysuru-Bagalkot) near platform number 6 around 1.30 pm.

According to the Railway police, Prabhu was a bachelor, and his family is unaware of the reason behind his extreme step. The incident has left the railway community in shock and mourning.

In another unfortunate incident, a railway employee from Bihar, Arun Kumar, also died by suicide on the same day. Kumar, 43, was posted as the station master at Anandapuram railway station in Sagar. He jumped in front of a moving train and succumbed to his injuries. Kumar was on leave and had returned to Shivamogga to resume work.

These incidents have raised concerns about the mental health and well-being of railway employees. The demanding nature of their jobs, long working hours, and the pressures they face could potentially contribute to such tragic outcomes. It is important for railway authorities to prioritize the mental health support and well-being of their employees to prevent such incidents in the future.

In another news, a Tamil Nadu man working in Taiwan tragically died by suicide. The 27-year-old man, identified as P Rahulram, jumped off the 24th floor of an apartment building. The reason behind his decision is unknown, and his family is seeking assistance to repatriate his body to Coimbatore.

On a positive note, the railway ministry has approved a direct express train between Mau Junction and Mumbai. This decision comes after a request from the state power minister. The new train is expected to be inaugurated on November 22 and will provide a convenient travel option for passengers between Mau and Mumbai.
