In recent news, the demand for electric two-wheelers in India has been on the rise, leading the way towards sustainable mobility in the country. Electric scooters and motorcycles offer numerous environmental advantages, including zero tailpipe emissions and reduced pollution levels. Technological advancements have also improved the performance of electric vehicles, bridging the gap with traditional gasoline-powered vehicles. Additionally, electric two-wheelers offer cost savings and convenience with the ability to charge at home or the office, contributing to the revolution in urban mobility.

On a different note, recent data from the transport department reveals that over 85% of vehicles in Delhi without pollution under control (PUC) certificates are two-wheelers. This lack of compliance with emission standards highlights the need for stricter enforcement and penalties for non-compliance. The number of people obtaining PUC certificates has decreased over the years, and fuel denial without a PUC certificate was temporarily put on hold. However, officials assert that stricter rules may be implemented, including canceling vehicle registrations for non-payment of fines.
