Lashkar-e-Taiba Commander and Associate Killed in Encounter with Indian Army in Rajouri District

A commander of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist group, who was responsible for orchestrating the Dhangri and Kandi terror attacks, was killed in an encounter with the Indian Army in the Kalakote area of Rajouri district. The LeT commander, identified as Quari, was a Pakistani national and an expert sniper. He was also well-trained in guerrilla warfare and handling improvised explosive devices (IEDs).

The encounter took place in the dense jungles of Kalakote, where two army officers and two soldiers lost their lives on Wednesday. The army lost another soldier on Thursday, bringing the total toll to five. The Indian Army has been conducting extensive search operations in the area to ensure the safety of the local population and to eliminate any remaining terrorists.

According to a police spokesperson, Quari and his associate were killed during the encounter, and incriminating material, including weapons and ammunition, were recovered from their possession. The spokesperson also mentioned that the slain terrorist was sent to revive terrorism in the region.

The area is currently being thoroughly searched to check for any other suspicious items or support structures. The Indian Army remains committed to safeguarding the region and eliminating any threats to national security.

This incident is part of a larger spike in terrorist activities in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch. Since January this year, these districts have witnessed multiple terror attacks, resulting in the loss of civilian lives and security personnel. The Indian Army is actively engaged in counter-terrorism operations to neutralize these threats and maintain peace in the region.
