Kalakote: A major blow has been dealt to the pan-Islamic terror network, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), as one of its senior commanders, sent from Pakistan to incite terrorism in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, was killed during a relentless 24-hour battle with the Army in the Kalakote forest area of Rajouri.

The deceased terrorist, known as Qari, was a highly skilled and formidable member of Lashkar-e-Taiba, who had been operating in the terrain of Rajouri for the past year. Qari, a renowned LeT commander, hailed from a rigorous training ground that spanned both Pakistan and the rugged landscapes of Afghanistan. His exceptional skills and strategic acumen marked him as a prominent figure within the LeT hierarchy. Qari held a significant position as the mastermind behind the Dangri and Kandi operations, demonstrating his organizational prowess.

His main objective was to revive terrorism in the twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch through a combination of communal killings, recruitment drives, and radicalization efforts. Qari possessed expertise in fabricating improvised explosive devices (IEDs), precision marksmanship with sniper weaponry, adept jungle maneuvering, and survival skills tailored to the challenging jungle and mountainous terrain.

Operating from concealed cave hideouts, Qari epitomized the secretive nature of LeT’s operations. However, with his elimination, the chapter of a high-ranking LeT terrorist commander has come to an end, leaving a void in the nefarious plans for renewed terrorism in the borderlands of Rajouri and Poonch.

The Army’s successful operation against Qari serves as a seismic blow to the LeT’s terror network and highlights the effectiveness of the security forces in countering such threats. The elimination of Qari will undoubtedly disrupt LeT’s plans and provide a sense of relief to the residents of Rajouri and Poonch, who have been living under constant fear of terrorist attacks. The security forces remain vigilant and committed to neutralizing any further threats to ensure peace and stability in the region.
