Fatal Crash on I-795 Claims the Life of Kaitlin Elizabeth Stranick

REISTERSTOWN, Md. — The cause of a fatal four-car crash on I-795 in Maryland is currently under investigation by the state police. The incident occurred on Wednesday, resulting in a four-hour road closure.

According to police reports, the crash took place just after 1 p.m. on Interstate 795 North, near Westminster Pike. A preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford F150 pickup truck, traveling south on I-795, collided with the back of a 2005 Ford F350 pickup truck.

Both vehicles rolled into the grass median and struck a metal cable barrier before entering the northbound lanes. The Ford F350 then crashed head-on into a 2017 Toyota Rav4. Tragically, the driver of the Rav4, identified as 30-year-old Kaitlin Elizabeth Stranick from Pennsylvania, was pronounced dead at the scene by EMS.

A fourth vehicle, a 2016 Toyota Corolla, also became involved in the accident when it collided with debris from the initial crash. The driver of the Ford F350, a 23-year-old man, sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Fortunately, the drivers of the other two vehicles involved were unharmed.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is currently conducting an investigation into the incident. As a result of the crash, all northbound lanes of I-795 were closed for approximately four hours. The Maryland State Highway Administration provided assistance in managing the road closures.

Once the investigation is complete, the MSP Crash Team will submit its findings to the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office. Based on their findings, the office will determine whether charges should be filed.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for cautious driving. Authorities continue to urge all motorists to remain vigilant and follow traffic regulations to prevent such accidents from occurring.
