Electrician Muhammad Yasin Shot Dead in Gojra Shop; Alleged Killer Arrested

Toba Tek Singh police have successfully solved a murder case that took place on October 16. The victim, Muhammad Yasin, an electrician, was found dead in his shop near the grain market in Gojra. Initially, the police had registered a case against an unidentified killer. However, they later discovered that Muhammad Arsalan was present at the shop during the time of the murder. Arsalan confessed to shooting Yasin after a heated argument over the repair of his energy-saving bulb. The police have arrested Arsalan as the alleged killer.

In another tragic incident, two people were killed in crossfire between two rival groups in Kabirwala tehsil’s Sarai Sadhu police station area. Both groups, belonging to the same family, had an ongoing property dispute. The conflict escalated when one group tried to occupy disputed farmland, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. Mumtaz Ahmad Hiraj and Muhammad Akmal Hiraj, one from each group, were injured and later died at the Kabirwala Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. The police have arrested several individuals from both rival groups.

Addressing a narcotics awareness seminar, Prof Dr Imtiaz Ahmad Dogar, president of the Pakistan Psychiatric Society, emphasized the need to address the alarming impact of drug addiction. Dr Dogar stated that 700 people die daily due to drug addiction. He urged the dissemination of awareness among youth and advised focusing on positive activities like exercise, yoga, and religion to counteract the growing trend of drug use.

In a tragic accident, two people lost their lives and two others were seriously injured when a 22-wheeler trailer collided with a motorcycle rickshaw on Samundri Road near Dasuha Canal bridge. Aneesa Maqbool was one of the deceased, while the other victim remains unidentified. The injured individuals, Sonia Asif and Noureen, were immediately taken to the DHQ hospital.

Faisalabad Development Authority Director General Muhammad Asif Chaudhry met with a delegation of Faisalabad Press Club office bearers to discuss the establishment of a journalist colony. Mr Chaudhry proposed allocating the overseas block in FDA City for this purpose, pending approval from the governing body. The delegation members decided to write to the caretaker chief minister to seek approval for the land in FDA City for the journalist colony.

These incidents highlight the need for law enforcement agencies to ensure justice and maintain peace in society.
