Elderly Woman Killed, 2 Injured in Road Accidents

Samba, November 23 – A tragic road accident in Rakh Amb Tali area of Samba claimed the life of an elderly woman on Wednesday evening. The woman, identified as Kartaro Devi, 70, was hit by a motorcyclist and suffered serious injuries. Despite being rushed to District Hospital Samba, she succumbed to her injuries.

According to reports, the incident occurred when the motorcyclist collided with Devi in Rakh Amb Tali area. Local residents immediately came to her aid and took her to the hospital, but sadly, it was too late to save her life.

In another accident near Maheshwar in Samba on the Jammu-Pathankot National Highway, a motorcyclist collided with a pedestrian, resulting in severe injuries for both. The injured individuals, identified as Aditya Bhagat, 19, and Gurdeep Singh, were quickly transported to District Hospital Samba with the help of the Army and local police. After receiving initial medical treatment, they were referred to the Government Medical College Hospital in Jammu for further care.

The police have taken cognizance of both accidents and have initiated further action. Such incidents highlight the need for increased road safety measures in the area to prevent further loss of life and injury.
