Daytona Beach Police have named 34-year-old Charles Leon Ivy as the primary suspect in a stabbing and arson case that resulted in the deaths of two individuals. The incident, which unfolded on Tuesday, involved the tragic death of Den’Jah Moore, a 30-year-old mother, and her 10-month-old child.
During a press conference, Daytona Beach Police Chief Jakari Young revealed that Ivy is facing serious charges, including two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder, and arson charges. Chief Young described the crime as one of the most horrendous and horrific he has encountered throughout his career.

The tragedy did not end with the loss of lives. Two additional children, aged 4 and 5, managed to escape the fire but are currently in critical condition and receiving medical treatment. According to court documents, firefighters discovered multiple points of origin for the fire at the crime scene. Although Ivy has not confessed to the crime, evidence such as his presence at the scene and possession of the victim’s phone strongly suggest his involvement.
Ivy, who is believed to be the father of the older children, was tracked to the crime scene through traffic cameras. He is currently being held without bail and is facing charges of premeditated first-degree murder, attempted felony murder, and arson.
