Bengaluru: Two men die of asphyxiation while cleaning water tank

Two men tragically lost their lives while cleaning a water tank in Bengaluru. The victims have been identified as Chandan Rajvanshi, 29, and Pintu Rajvanshi, 21, both hailing from Bihar. According to Tv9 Kannada, the cause of death was asphyxiation resulting from a chemical reaction caused by certain elements used in the tank cleaning process.

The incident occurred in the Bommanahalli Industrial area of Anekal Taluk on Wednesday evening. Chandan and Pintu began experiencing difficulty in breathing and called for help. Unfortunately, their cries were in vain as they succumbed to the toxic fumes. The owner of the company, Srinivas Reddy, and another worker named Jagadish also fell unconscious while attempting to rescue the brothers.

The unconscious individuals were rushed to a nearby private hospital in Jigani for treatment. Meanwhile, the Bengaluru Rural SP, Mallikarjun Baldandi, arrived at the scene to investigate the matter. The bodies of the deceased were later transported to a hospital for postmortem examination.

The water tank in question was located at a plastic components molding company owned by Srinivas Reddy. It is a devastating loss for the Rajvanshi family and a somber reminder of the risks associated with such hazardous tasks. Chandan and Pintu had traveled from Bihar to Bengaluru in search of employment opportunities.

Authorities are currently conducting an investigation into the incident. The police are working diligently to determine the exact cause of the chemical reaction that led to this tragic accident.
