Coimbatore Central all-woman police have arrested a badminton coach in a private school for soliciting nude photographs from a girl student. The coach, identified as D Arun Brun, had been working at the school on Avinashi Road for the past six months. He allegedly asked a 17-year-old girl to send her nude photos to his WhatsApp number. The girl initially sent a normal photograph, but refused to send any explicit images.
The incident came to light when the coach allegedly took pictures of the girl while she was changing her clothes on the school premises. The girl informed her parents, who lodged a complaint with the police. The case has been registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Information Technology Act.

Following the arrest, the school management terminated the coach’s services. It has also been revealed that the coach had attempted to solicit pictures from five other girls. Investigations are ongoing in this regard.
