A 23-year-old woman from Eagleville has been sentenced to decades in prison after pleading guilty to causing a fatal crash while driving under the influence. Jayana Webb struck and killed two state troopers and a pedestrian on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia last year. Webb pleaded guilty to three counts each of third-degree murder and homicide by vehicle and has been sentenced to 27 1/2 to 60 years in prison.

The incident occurred in the early morning of March 2022 when Troopers Martin Mack III and Branden Sisca were attempting to help a pedestrian to safety on the southbound lanes of Interstate 95 near Philadelphia’s sports stadiums. Webb’s vehicle, traveling at a high speed, struck all three individuals, resulting in their deaths.

District Attorney Larry Krasner referred to this incident as “one of the most shocking incidents of vehicular violence in recent memory” and expressed satisfaction with the sentence handed down.

Webb’s defense attorney, Michael Walker, stated that his client, who is seven months pregnant, will be allowed to remain out of custody until she gives birth in February. After that, she will have some time to bond with her child before reporting to prison.

During earlier court hearings, Webb’s blood alcohol content and her activity on social media were discussed. Authorities discovered that her blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit, and traces of marijuana were also found in her system.

Both troopers had promising careers ahead of them before their lives were tragically cut short. Trooper Mack had been serving since 2014 and was assigned to the Philadelphia barracks, while Trooper Sisca enlisted in 2021 and graduated later that year.
