TOWN OF CLARENDON, N.Y. (WKBW) — The Orleans County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a fatal car accident that occurred on State Route 31A in the Town of Clarendon. The crash, involving two vehicles, took place on Wednesday morning.
According to initial reports from the sheriff’s office, it appears that the eastbound vehicle attempted to overtake another vehicle that had slowed down to make a right turn into a private driveway. Unfortunately, the eastbound vehicle collided with a westbound vehicle. It is important to note that the section of Route 31A where the accident occurred is designated as a no-passing zone, with a double solid line, specifically on a curve.

Tragically, the two individuals in the eastbound vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. They have been identified as Autumn Lynn Dercqu, a 22-year-old from Medina, and Justin S. Christmas, a 32-year-old from Rochester. The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester with multiple injuries.
