18-Year-Olds Mi’Quavis Taylor and Kaden Thomson Arrested in Connection with the Murder of Twin Falls Resident Freddy Rodriguez

New details have emerged in the murder case of Twin Falls resident, Freddy Rodriguez, as the case has been unsealed. According to court records, 18-year-olds Mi’Quavis Taylor and Kaden Thomson went to Rodriguez’s home on Capri Drive with the intention of stealing his minivan. Rodriguez’s wife had previously reported a break-in and believed the thief would return.

On the morning of the incident, Rodriguez’s wife noticed a white pickup truck across the street. She observed a person wearing a face covering and gloves approaching their property. She alerted her husband, who confronted the suspect, later identified as Thomson, armed with a bat. Meanwhile, Taylor and Thomson had discussed beforehand who would take the minivan and who would drive the stolen Ford F-150 pickup.

Thomson got into the minivan and as he started the vehicle, Rodriguez entered, armed with a bat. Thomson shot Rodriguez and the pair fled in the stolen pickup. Rodriguez was shot five times, as revealed in the autopsy conducted by the Ada County Coroner’s Office. Taylor and Thomson admitted to police that they left the scene because they assumed Rodriguez had died. They discarded ammunition and clothing as they fled to Boise.

Further investigation into the court records uncovered a multi-day crime spree by Taylor and Thomson. On November 9, they stole a Sig Sauer nine millimeter and a ballistic vest from a car at an apartment complex. They also stole a Honda Civic on the same day. Late on November 9 or early November 10, Thomson stole a Nissan Murano, while Taylor stole a Chrysler 200 from separate residences. On late November 14 or early November 15, they took a Chevrolet Silverado. The stolen truck was tracked to Capri Drive through GPS data and surveillance footage.

On November 15, Taylor and Thomson crashed two stolen vehicles into each other and fled the scene. They then allegedly stole a Ford F-150 from a residence and broke into another car. Later that day, they were at a home when an officer arrived to investigate the crash involving one of the stolen vehicles. On November 16, they went to Capri Drive and committed the murder. Finally, on November 17, they were arrested in Boise after crashing the stolen F-150.

The shocking details of this crime spree have left the community in Twin Falls in shock. The investigation continues as authorities piece together the events leading up to the murder and the subsequent crimes committed by Taylor and Thomson.
