An 18-year-old boy, Mubarak, has been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command for the alleged murder of his mother’s boss, Mrs. Sidikat Anuoluwapo. The incident occurred over a cell phone worth N80,000.
Last week, Mrs. Sidikat’s lifeless body was discovered in a pool of blood inside her room by her granddaughter. The police in Ikare Akoko conducted investigations that led to the arrest of Mubarak. The victim’s cell phone was found in his possession.

Mubarak confessed that he had an accomplice named Reliwan, aged 20. Together, they took the police to the crime scene in Similoluwa area of Agbaluku Arigidi Akoko. They demonstrated how they scaled the fence and attacked the victim.
Mubarak’s mother, Oluwasuen, who worked as a housekeeper and cleaner for Mrs. Sidikat, has also been arrested. Witnesses reported that Mubarak used to accompany his mother to work at the victim’s house.
According to a police source, the two suspects confessed that they gained entry to the house by scaling the fence in the afternoon. They went directly to the victim’s room, where she was lying on her bed after taking a bath. They used a wooden box to shatter her head while the second suspect strangled her.
The case has been transferred to the police headquarters in Akure for further investigation.
