17-Year-Old Robert McIntosh Identified as Deceased Victim in Ongoing Homicide Investigation in Owen Sound

(Owen Sound, ON) – The Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) have apprehended a third suspect in connection with an ongoing murder investigation in Owen Sound.

A 17-year-old from Brampton has been charged with First Degree Murder, in violation of Section 235(1) of the Criminal Code.

In the early hours of July 11, 2023, the OSPS responded to reports of a shooting at a residential complex on 6th Avenue West. Upon arrival, they discovered the lifeless body of 17-year-old Robert MCINTOSH of Owen Sound. Investigators believe that the shooting was a targeted attack.

The accused has been remanded in custody, pending a bail hearing. Two other individuals previously mentioned in media releases are also facing First-Degree Murder charges and remain in custody.

The investigation is being led by the CIB and involves officers from the OSPS, OSPS Crime Unit, OPP West Region Crime Prevention and Investigations, OSPS and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), the OPP Regional Support Team (RST), as well as the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.

Efforts to gather evidence and bring those responsible to justice are ongoing.
