SHARPSBURG, Georgia (WANF) — A woman was killed in Coweta County on Tuesday night, according to the Coweta County Sheriff’s Office.
The incident occurred at a residence on Halo Trace in Sharpsburg, where deputies found the woman’s lifeless body.
The suspect has been identified as Dustin Allen Phillips, the son of the victim’s husband. Witnesses reported that Phillips shot his wife before fleeing the scene. The victim has been identified as Vennessa Phillips, who was a mother and grandmother.
The search for the suspect is now underway, with the involvement of the U.S. Marshals and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.
