Two Persons Killed in Auto Rickshaw Collision on National Highway-16: Puja Sahoo (20) and Sibananda Mohapatra (11)

Two individuals have lost their lives and six others have sustained serious injuries in a tragic road accident in Jajpur district, Odisha. The incident occurred on Tuesday when a vehicle collided with an auto rickshaw on National Highway-16 at Panikoili Chhack. The deceased have been identified as Puja Sahoo (20) and Sibananda Mohapatra (11) from Sahapada village in Bhadrak district. Both of them died on the spot, while the injured individuals have been admitted to the hospital for treatment. The victims were en route to Puri when the accident took place.

Following the collision, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The local authorities have initiated an investigation into the case. Lizarani Biswal, the inspector in-charge of Panikoili police station, stated, “We are investigating the case.”

Road accidents continue to be a major concern in India, with thousands of lives lost each year. In another tragic incident, two passengers were killed and six others injured in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district. The accident occurred when a Sumo vehicle rolled down into a gorge. The increasing number of road accidents in the region has raised concerns among local leaders, who are urging the administration to take preventive measures and provide financial assistance to the affected families.

In a separate incident in Tulsa, Oklahoma, two people were fatally shot and three others were injured during an altercation at a residential gathering. The police arrived at the scene early in the morning and are currently investigating the incident. Fortunately, four children present at the location were unharmed.

Road accidents and incidents of violence continue to pose a threat to public safety, emphasizing the need for stricter measures and awareness campaigns to prevent such tragedies.
