When the officer attempted to pull the car over, the driver ignored the signal and sped away, leading to a high-speed chase. The stolen Volvo eventually turned into a private parking lot where the driver and the front passenger quickly exited the vehicle and fled on foot. Despite repeated commands from the police to stop, the two juveniles continued to run. Fortunately, they were captured after a short pursuit.

After arresting the teenagers, troopers discovered that the Volvo had collided with an empty parked van in the parking lot. This accident occurred because the 16-year-old driver failed to put the vehicle in park before getting out.

Both juveniles were taken to Troop 1, where they faced several charges. The 16-year-old driver was charged with receiving stolen property over $1,500, disregarding a police officer signal, resisting arrest, criminal mischief, and multiple traffic violations. He was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and released to a guardian after posting a $5,000 secured bond.

The 15-year-old passenger was also arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court #11 and was released to a guardian on an unsecured bond of $1,000.
