Two Arrested for Murdering Man in Coimbatore

Coimbatore: Two individuals, one of whom is a minor, have been arrested for the murder of a 45-year-old man in the city. The suspects have been identified as M Mohammed Firdose Raj, a 28-year-old daily wage worker from Madurai, and a 16-year-old boy who dropped out of Class IX from Sundakkamuthur.

The body of the victim, identified as Ravi, was discovered in a partially decomposed state near a railway track on Friday. Following a postmortem examination that revealed severe head injuries, the police suspected foul play. Inspector Arjun headed a police team that reviewed CCTV footage from the area, which showed the two accused individuals and the deceased going to the railway track on November 14 at around 10 am. An hour later, the footage captured the two youths returning.

Based on the CCTV footage, the police apprehended the suspects, who eventually confessed to the murder. According to the confession, on November 14, the three had consumed alcohol in the morning when an argument erupted between them. The two youths repeatedly struck Ravi’s head with a stone, took 300 rupees from his pocket, and left the scene. An officer with the Race Course police stated that the three were known to consume alcohol together and were involved in homosexual relationships. The investigation is ongoing.

In other recent news, a 13-year-old boy who went missing after scoring poorly on his exams was traced by the police in Nashik. The boy had expressed his intention not to return home due to his exam results. However, after a six-hour search operation, the police located him and safely reunited him with his parents.

Additionally, CCTV footage in Bengaluru revealed that a 77-year-old man died following an assault. The footage shows a motorcycle-borne individual confronting the victim in front of a bank, leading to a violent attack. Another person joined in before both assailants fled the scene. The police suspect road rage and have formed a special team to apprehend the perpetrators.

In Thanjavur, police investigating the case of a man killed by a quack have discovered that the victim’s internal organs were missing. The accused individual admitted to burying the body after claiming the victim died during a sexual encounter. The police are planning to interrogate the suspect further to determine if there are additional victims and if the missing organs were a motive for the murder.
