Tragic Accident Claims the Lives of Junior and Waynares Dien Parame

TWO people have died and 14 others have been injured in a horrific road accident involving a passenger bus, a motorcycle, and a cargo truck carrying live chickens. The collision occurred on Wednesday morning in Naga City, located in the southern part of Cebu.

One of the victims, a truck helper named Junior, was tragically trapped in the front seat of the vehicle, which was completely destroyed. He suffered fatal burns when the butane gas they were transporting exploded upon impact. The second fatality was identified as Waynares Dien Parame, a 23-year-old motorcycle driver from Naga City.

According to Lieutenant Colonel William Humoc, the chief of Naga City Police Station, the accident unfolded when the truck, driven by Adonis Espera from Compostela town in northern Cebu, lost control while descending a hill. The truck collided with Parame’s motorcycle before crashing into the back of the passenger bus.

The truck involved in the incident allegedly belonged to JDK Trucking Cargo and was en route from Toledo City to a slaughterhouse in Naga City. Espera, along with another truck assistant named John Carlo Flores, sustained serious injuries and were rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Among the injured were passengers aboard the bus and another motorcyclist named Joseph Emmanuel Bacalla from Tabuelan town, aged 47.

The accident has left the community in shock and mourning. Local authorities have launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision. Meanwhile, officials are urging motorists to exercise caution and adhere to traffic rules to prevent similar tragedies from occurring in the future.
