Police Appeal for Public Assistance in Fatal Shooting Investigation
Law enforcement authorities in Shawnee County are seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect identified as 29-year-old Tremale M. Serrano from Topeka. The appeal comes as part of an ongoing investigation into a fatal shooting incident.

According to Rosie Nichols, a spokesperson for the police, officers were dispatched to an address on SW 21st Street in response to a report of an individual found in the front yard. The incident occurred on the morning of October 15, shortly after 9:30 a.m. Tragically, Jackson E. Danner, a 23-year-old resident of Topeka, was discovered at the scene and pronounced deceased by first responders.
Through their investigation, the police have uncovered evidence suggesting the involvement of a second suspect, identified as Tremale Serrano. Authorities are urging anyone with information about Serrano’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in the ongoing inquiry.
In a recent development, police have apprehended 33-year-old Aaron Serrano and have subsequently booked him into the Shawnee County Department of Corrections in connection with Danner’s death. The arrest took place on November 14, marking a significant breakthrough in the case.
