A 24-year-old man from South Bend was fatally shot in an incident that took place on Tuesday, November 21. The South Bend Police received a call at around 4:45 p.m. reporting a shooting in the area of Marion and Taylor Streets. Upon arrival, officers found a male victim who had sustained gunshot wounds. The victim was immediately taken to the hospital but sadly succumbed to his injuries.
The victim has been identified as Matthew Wiley, a 24-year-old resident of South Bend. An autopsy is scheduled for today in Kalamazoo to determine the cause of death.
