Homicide detectives in a Los Angeles neighborhood have discovered what they believe to be human remains of a person who went missing in June, according to authorities. The remains were unearthed from a backyard near Woodley Avenue and Woodley Place in the city’s North Hills neighborhood. The Los Angeles Police Department is currently investigating the case.
Residents in the area were shocked by the grisly discovery. One resident told FOX11 Los Angeles, “You can’t really believe it. It’s like the weirdest thing to happen.” Law enforcement officials were seen digging through the backyard of the 1-acre property, located near a pool and pool house.

The human remains are believed to be connected to a missing persons case from June. However, no further details about the body or the missing person have been released. The Los Angeles County Coroner’s Office will be responsible for identifying the remains.
Local news outlet KNBC-TV reported, citing police sources, that the body may belong to a male migrant worker. Meanwhile, a homeowner told KTLA that the victim was allegedly killed by a relative.
During a press briefing at the scene, LAPD Deputy Chief Alan Hamilton announced that one individual is being booked for murder in connection to the case. The suspect has been identified as 48-year-old Russell Robinson. He was arrested on suspicion of murder and is currently being held on $2 million bail.
Hamilton emphasized the commitment of the Los Angeles Police Department to solving homicide investigations. He stated, “Someone thought they could murder someone and hide the body. My message is very clear: the Los Angeles Police Department never gives up on homicide investigations. Ever.”
