Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-Run Incident in Orcutt

Mark Lee Rogers, a 33-year-old resident of Paso Robles, was tragically killed in a hit-and-run incident in Orcutt early Sunday morning. The incident occurred on southbound Highway 135, south of Rice Ranch Road.

According to reports, at around 12:34 a.m., California Highway Patrol (CHP) officers received a call about a pedestrian lying in the roadway. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Rogers’ lifeless body within the traffic lanes. Preliminary investigations suggest that he was struck by at least one vehicle. Unfortunately, the vehicle(s) involved fled the scene before the arrival of the CHP officers.

In response to the incident, Caltrans closed southbound Highway 135 for about an hour, starting at 2 a.m., to facilitate on-scene investigations. The full investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
