A man, identified as Hanme K. Clark, was apprehended by authorities on Tuesday, following a 25-hour manhunt. Clark is accused of fatally shooting three people and critically injuring a fourth during a property dispute with his neighbors in rural Colorado. The arrest took place near Albuquerque, New Mexico, by personnel from the New Mexico State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service.
According to the Custer County Sheriff’s Office, Clark was found with a weapon in his pickup truck, although it is unclear whether it was the same weapon used in the shootings. Other neighbors, not involved in the incident, have accused Clark of harassment, denying them access to part of his property, and displaying signs indicating that he was armed.

The shooting occurred on Monday afternoon as a surveyor was working on a neighboring property. The surveyor reported that Clark approached them, shouting about trespassing, before opening fire. The surveyor managed to escape and alert authorities, while Patty Daulton, one of the victims, called 911 as the shooting unfolded.
The victims have been identified as Rob Geers, his wife Beth Wade Geers, and James Daulton, Patty Daulton’s husband. Patty Daulton is currently receiving medical treatment at a trauma center. The Geers and Daultons owned property near Clark’s residence.
Court records revealed that there had been previous disputes between Clark and Rob Geers, including allegations of trespassing. Clark had also been accused of locking a gate and posting signs indicating that he was armed. Property disputes are not uncommon in the area, as property boundaries are often unclear.
Authorities launched an extensive search for Clark in the hours following the shooting. Residents were advised to stay in their homes, and law enforcement agencies utilized night vision equipment, drones, and a helicopter to locate the suspect. Clark’s vehicle was eventually spotted in Salida, prompting a shelter-in-place order for residents in that area.
