Man and Son Die in Bihar House Fire Caused by Burning Mosquito Coil

A tragic incident occurred in Bihar’s Darbhanga district, resulting in the death of a man and his son on Wednesday. The fire that engulfed their house was caused by a burning mosquito coil, according to the police.

The victims were identified as Mohammad Shabbir, aged 45, and his son Mohammad Aamir, aged 15. Shabbir’s wife stated that they were sleeping in a room where a mosquito coil was lit. In the middle of the night, she noticed the flames and immediately raised an alarm.

Neighbours rushed to the scene and attempted to extinguish the fire, but their efforts were in vain as the flames grew stronger and quickly spread throughout the entire house. The intensity of the fire made it impossible to save Shabbir and Aamir.

Authorities were informed, and the district police promptly arrived at the scene. They recovered the lifeless bodies and sent them for post-mortem examinations at the Sadar Hospital in Darbhanga.

This tragic incident serves as a reminder of the potential dangers associated with mosquito coils. While they are commonly used as a method to repel mosquitos and prevent mosquito-borne diseases, it is crucial to exercise caution and follow safety guidelines.
