KARACHI: The Karachi police have discovered the body of a woman with multiple bullet wounds in a graveyard located in Kasbah Colony, according to reports on Wednesday.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the woman has been identified as Naseeb Taj, a 35-year-old resident of Karachi’s Kasbah colony and the wife of Abdul Rehman. The police suspect that the motive behind the murder may be an honor killing, with the victim’s son-in-law and husband as the prime suspects.

The authorities believe that the accused Abdul Rehman, along with the victim’s son-in-law, took Taj out of her house and executed the crime in the graveyard before fleeing the scene. The police are currently conducting raids to apprehend the culprits.

This incident follows a similar case last week where the lifeless body of a woman was found inside a drum, which had been dumped on a vacant plot in Karachi’s Defense Phase 7 area. Local residents reported the discovery to the Karachi Defense Police Station, and the body was subsequently taken into custody for further investigation.

The spokesperson for the South police revealed that the victim’s identity has yet to be established, as the body is estimated to be around 3-4 days old. The investigation into the case is currently underway.

These incidents highlight the alarming rise in cases of violence against women in Karachi. Authorities must take immediate action to ensure the safety and security of women in the city. Public awareness campaigns regarding gender-based violence and stricter law enforcement are crucial to address this pressing issue.
