Benjamin Charles Jones Identified as Gunman in Beavercreek, Ohio, Shooting

Benjamin Charles Jones has been identified as the gunman responsible for a shooting at a Walmart in Beavercreek, Ohio. The incident left at least four people injured before the suspect died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the police.

On Monday night, Jones, a 20-year-old man from Dayton, entered the Walmart located on Pentagon Blvd. and opened fire. Police responded to the scene and discovered the gunman near the vision center with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Zrinka Dilber, assistant special agent in charge of the Cincinnati FBI Field Office, stated that Jones was a local resident who had returned to Dayton last year. The 20-year-old was armed with a long gun during the attack. Authorities are currently investigating whether he legally owned the firearm. The motive for the crime remains unknown, and investigators are trying to determine if there was any connection between the gunman and the victims.

One witness, Alisha Ring, shared her terrifying experience on Facebook Live. She recounted shopping for Thanksgiving groceries when she saw the suspect passing by with an “assault rifle” and starting to shoot. Overwhelmed by emotions, she tearfully expressed gratitude for surviving the incident unharmed.

Ring described the shooter as a tall, skinny, white male with long hair. She noted that he carried a partially open Army backpack and appeared to be on a mission.

Police have confirmed that four individuals were shot during the incident. As of Tuesday afternoon, three of the victims were in stable condition, while the fourth victim was reportedly in critical but stable condition. Among the injured, three were women and one was a man. Authorities continue to investigate the shooting and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

This incident has once again raised concerns about gun violence in the United States and sparked debates about gun control regulations.
