The Mumbai police were alerted to Khan’s latest call, in which he threatened to blow up the state-run J J Hospital and claimed to have been contracted by Dawood Ibrahim’s gang.

Investigations revealed that Khan had made the call to the police control room while he was at J.J. Hospital, where his medical check-up was being delayed due to a long queue of patients. Police officials have described Khan as mentally unstable.

An offence under section 505 (2) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered against Khan based on a complaint filed by the police officials. The investigation into the case is ongoing.

Threats against political figures are taken very seriously, and such incidents highlight the need for heightened security measures.
