Prince William Police Department has reported a fraud investigation in which a 65-year-old woman was scammed out of a large amount of money. The victim was led to believe that she was helping a family member who had been involved in a car accident. She received phone calls from individuals claiming to be the family member, a police officer, and a public defender. The victim was coerced into putting the money inside a box, which was then given to a ride-share driver who was not involved in the scam. Law enforcement officials are warning residents not to provide personal information or money to individuals claiming to be the police or affiliated with the court system. They advise contacting loved ones directly through known means if there are concerns about their wellbeing.
In another incident, a suspect sought in connection with an armed robbery at a Super 8 in Dumfries has been arrested. The robbery occurred on November 5 and the accused, Bryce Laron HENRY, was located and taken into custody in Fairfax County. HENRY, 24, has been charged with robbery, use of a firearm in commission of a felony, abduction, and domestic assault & battery.

In a previous armed robbery case at the same Super 8, the victim, a 33-year-old woman, and the accused, Bryce Laron HENRY, were involved in a verbal altercation that escalated. HENRY physically assaulted the victim, preventing her from leaving the room. He then brandished a firearm and demanded money before leaving. Minor injuries were reported, but no shots were fired. Arrest warrants were obtained for HENRY, but initial attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.
Additionally, a domestic dispute occurred on November 20 at a residence in Woodbridge. During the altercation, the accused, identified as Tamiko RIVERA, grabbed the victim, a 39-year-old woman, and then grabbed her neck. The parties separated, and RIVERA fled before police arrived. However, officers located RIVERA nearby and arrested her without incident. RIVERA has been charged with strangulation and domestic assault & battery.
