57-Year-Old Stephen Albright Found Beaten to Death: Two Persons of Interest in Custody but Not Charged

Grandview Heights police have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the beating death of Stephen Albright. However, as of late Wednesday afternoon, neither of them has been charged with his murder.

According to Aubrey Hale, the director of administration and public information officer for the Grandview Heights police, no criminal charges have been filed against the two individuals at this time.

Jacob Laurence, 33, was taken into custody on Wednesday morning without incident based on a tip received by the police. He was apprehended in the 1300 block of Dublin Road. Laurence was questioned about the death of Albright, who was found unconscious with severe head and face injuries on November 13. Unfortunately, Albright succumbed to his injuries on November 17 at Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center.

Laurence was subsequently transferred to the Franklin County jail, but he was booked on an outstanding burglary warrant from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

On Tuesday night, the woman of interest was also taken into custody by Grandview Heights police, with assistance from Columbus police and SWAT. However, she was later released without being charged, according to Hale.

The investigation into Albright’s death is still ongoing, and no further updates have been provided by the Grandview Heights police as of Wednesday afternoon.
