24-Year-Old Brampton Food Delivery Driver, Gurvinder Nath, Dies in Violent Carjacking

A Brampton food delivery driver was tragically killed in a violent carjacking incident, and a young person has been charged in connection with the homicide. The incident occurred in the early hours of July 9, 2023, when the driver was making a delivery in the Britannia Road and Creditview Road area.

According to investigators, the driver was approached by a group of unknown suspects who attempted to steal his vehicle. This led to a physical altercation between the driver and the suspects. The suspects managed to flee the scene in the victim’s vehicle, leaving him on the side of the road with severe injuries.

Emergency services rushed the victim to a local trauma center, but sadly, he succumbed to his injuries on July 14, 2023. The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Gurvinder Nath from Brampton.

Authorities later located Nath’s vehicle in Mississauga, specifically in the Old Derry Road and Old Creditview Road area.

In a significant development, the police arrested a young person in connection with the homicide. The youth has been charged with second-degree murder. Due to legal restrictions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the young person has not been disclosed. They have been held on bail and are scheduled to appear in court.

This tragic incident highlights the dangers faced by food delivery drivers who often work late-night shifts.
