An 18-year-old faced charges on Wednesday after police claimed he brought a BB gun that resembled a Glock pistol to Moeller High School. The incident occurred earlier this month, prompting a lockdown at the school. The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department swiftly responded and ensured the building was safe. According to reports, the student allegedly showed the handgun to a classmate before being found by school security in the bathroom. However, the handgun turned out to be a BB gun that looked like a Glock semi-automatic pistol and was hidden in the student’s pants.

The accused, identified as 18-year-old Amaru Harrison, has been charged with inducing panic and possessing a deadly weapon or object that cannot be distinguished from a firearm in a school safety zone. During the court hearing on Wednesday, Harrison’s defense entered a not guilty plea, stating that he did not threaten anyone and has aspirations to attend college. The prosecution countered by arguing that even though it was a BB gun, the panic it created was genuine.
