10-Year-Old Son of Senior Police Officer Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident in Lucknow

At least two individuals have been arrested in connection with the tragic death of a 10-year-old boy, the son of a senior police officer, in Lucknow. The incident occurred when the boy was struck by a car while he was skating near Janeshwar Mishra park. The vehicle allegedly involved in the accident has also been recovered by the police.

The victim, Namish, was the son of Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Shweta Srivastava, who is posted at the police headquarters in Lucknow. The incident took place at around 5:30 am in the Gomti Nagar extension area. The child was immediately rushed to a hospital, where he was unfortunately pronounced dead, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Ashish Srivastava.

Following the incident, five police teams were formed to investigate the case. After reviewing the CCTV footage, the police were able to identify a white SUV as the vehicle involved in the accident. The police have since apprehended two individuals, Sarthak Singh and Devshri Verma, in connection with the incident.

Both Singh and Verma have been charged under sections 304 (punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code.

The tragic incident has sent shockwaves throughout the community, and the police are working diligently to ensure that justice is served. The arrest of the two individuals brings some hope for closure to the grieving family and the larger community.
