Woman Arrested in Connection to Grandview Heights Beating Death

A woman has been taken into custody in the Hilltop neighborhood of Columbus, Ohio, in connection with a beating that led to the death of a man in Grandview Heights. The woman is believed to be one of two persons of interest in the case. Grandview police are waiting for a SWAT team to arrive and execute a search warrant at a home on South Columbian Avenue, although it is unclear if the second person of interest is inside.

The incident began last week when police received a call about an unconscious man found near the train tracks on West Fifth Avenue. The man, identified as 57-year-old Stephen Albright, was suffering from severe head injuries and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Sadly, he passed away on Friday.

In an effort to gather more information, police released two short video surveillance clips showing two people on bicycles riding in the area where the incident occurred. The first video shows a person wearing dark clothing riding by at around 7:40 p.m. on November 13. The second video, timestamped at 7:48 p.m., shows a person wearing a red and white jacket.

Authorities believe that the two individuals seen in the videos may have been traveling together. Albright’s death is being investigated as a homicide.
