Tragic Accident Claims Lives of Three, Including Two Women, in Bihar’s Madhubani District

Three people, including two women, were tragically killed and one person was seriously injured in a road accident in Bihar’s Madhubani district on Tuesday morning. The incident occurred around 8 am near Purwari Tola village on National Highway 57, under the jurisdiction of Phulparas police station.

The vehicle responsible for the accident was an official car belonging to the district magistrate of Madhepura, Vijay Prakash Meena. It first hit a woman and her 7-year-old daughter, and then two laborers who were working on repairs. The injured victims were rushed to Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, one of them later succumbed to their injuries. The deceased laborer has been identified as Ashok Singh, a resident of Rajasthan.

In a shocking turn of events, the IAS officer’s bodyguard managed to rescue the district magistrate from the vehicle and fled on a two-wheeler, leaving the injured victims behind. As news of the accident spread, a mob gathered at the scene and vandalized the car. The mob was demanding proper compensation for the victims’ families and appropriate medical treatment for the injured.

The mother of the 7-year-old girl, who lost her life in the accident, has been identified as Guria Devi, aged 28.

Eyewitnesses reported that the IAS officer’s vehicle was traveling from Patna to Madhepura after the Chhath festival. The laborers involved in the accident were working on repairs for National Highway 57 under the supervision of the National Highway Authority of India. Upon searching the vehicle, the police discovered three bags.

This tragic incident highlights the importance of road safety and the need for drivers, especially those in official vehicles, to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations. The authorities must conduct a thorough investigation into the matter to ensure justice for the victims and their families.
