Shooting in Southern Colorado Leaves Three Dead, Suspect at Large: Hanme K. Clarke Identified

Police in southern Colorado are on the hunt for a suspect after a shooting incident that resulted in three deaths and one person being injured on Monday afternoon. The incident, which is believed to have stemmed from a dispute over property lines, occurred around 1 p.m. local time in a rural area.

According to Custer County Sheriff Lloyd “Rich” Smith, a shooter opened fire on a group of five individuals, killing two men and a woman. Another woman sustained multiple gunshots to the chest but is expected to survive. A fifth person managed to escape unharmed.

Authorities have identified the suspect as 45-year-old Hanme K. Clarke and believe he is still at large. Sheriff Smith revealed that the suspect and at least one of the victims had previously been involved in civil disputes over property lines, although further details were not provided.

The shooting took place in a wooded area of Custer County, a sparsely populated region with just over 5,000 residents. Law enforcement launched a search operation, utilizing a drone and SWAT team, while a shelter-in-place order was issued to residents in the surrounding area.

The suspect, Clarke, is thought to be driving a white Dodge Ram pickup truck. Sheriff Smith expressed confidence in the leads they had received, stating that they were working closely with another law enforcement agency to apprehend the suspect.
